Interstellar influences on Earth
Space can be arbitrarily divided into three domains: space between the planets out to the heliopause of a star (interplanetary); space between the stars within a single galaxy (interstellar); and space between galaxies (intergalactic). It is generally assumed that the same physical laws of nature apply equally in all three of these domains.
